Join us for FLASH (Fab Lab Arts and Science Hangout) Saturdays at BNY Mellon Fab Lab Carnegie Science Center! Computer animation brings together Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) alongside storytelling, drawing, sculpting, lighting, and animation. Take a deep dive in to a rotating series of stations that are inspired by the interactive activities in The Science Behind Pixar exhibition. FLASH Saturdays are open to all visitors with a General Admission wristband.
Activities may include:
- Storytelling and Storyboarding using story blocks to create variable stories
- Modeling using either CAD (Computer-aided design) software or hands on with magna-tiles to represent the faces of a 3D object
- Sculpting using CAD software or hands-on with clay.
- Animation using stop-motion animation and watch a stop-motion video made at here at the Science Center
- Co-Creation of a larger artistic piece that will live in the Fab Lab
- Tinkering with an ever-changing set of miscellaneous materials
