6–9 pm
Member Exclusive Event – all ages welcome!
Members are invited to celebrate our wonderful community of supporters at Carnegie Science Center’s famous Miniature Railroad and Village®! Among other iconic Pittsburgh and Western Pennsylvania landmarks, enjoy a special new addition to our miniature village: The Allegheny County Airport.
Designed by Architect Stanley L. Rush and opened in 1931, the Art Deco building is one of the best remaining examples of the iconic style in the Pittsburgh area. This model will replace the outdated Rodgers Field and will illustrate Pittsburgh’s commitment to scientific innovation and progress, educating our younger visitors about the early years of flight.
