Inspired Learners
Carnegie Science Center’s Center for STEM Education and Career Development offers numerous programs to inspire students, deepen their knowledge of science and technology, and broaden their understanding of STEM careers.
Specially themed field trips include SciTech, which occur twice annually; the annual ChemFest and Engineer the Future.
Annual competitions are:
- Chain Reaction Contraption Contest, an engineering competition for high school students
- Future City , an engineering competition for students in grades 6-8
- Covestro Pittsburgh Regional Science & Engineering Fair, one of the nation’s largest and oldest (dating to 1940) science fairs
Recognizing that women are dramatically under-represented in STEM careers, Carnegie STEM Girls is an array of programs designed to encourage girls to pursue their inborn love of science, explore science and technology, and see themselves as potential scientists and engineers.
