Summer Camps
Ages 8–9

Programs are offered for ages 4–14.

Explore video game science, virtual reality, digital storytelling, space, robotics, biology, art, and so much more to foster curiosity and scientific inquiry! The Science Center offers Summer Camps for kids in Pittsburgh that are exciting, fun, active, and enriching.


Full-day camps run from 9 a.m.–3 p.m.

Campers must bring a bagged lunch.

Cost: $340 Members, $365 Nonmembers (unless otherwise listed)

Carnegie Science Center Summer Camps are specifically developed for the age group listed. To make the most of your campers’ experience, they must be the appropriate age on the date the selected camp begins.

Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to hone your powers of observation and master mental and physical challenges as you train to be a spy. Conduct experiments to detect poisonous substances, decipher top secret codes, and test gadgets like night vision goggles and listening devices.

Experience firsthand all the latest technologies in digital fabrication at BNY Fab Lab: 3D printers, laser cutters, vinyl cutters, and other CNC machines. Learn the design software for both 2D and 3D machines and make daily projects to take with you! Perfect for campers who have never been to the Fab Lab before, as well as those with prior experience.

Robot Journey to Mars
Ages 8–9

Robot Journey to Mars – Sold Out!

Go on a mission with fellow astronauts, and design structures for a voyage to Mars. What would it take to get there and live on Mars? Once on the Red Planet, build and code a Vex Go robot “rover” to travel to the surface of Mars to complete various coding challenges.
