ROBOT-Rx

Studies indicate that 400,000 preventable drug-related injuries occur each year in hospitals, many of which are related to dispensation of prescription medicines. Visit roboworld® and operate ROBOT-Rx®, a medical robot that tracks and dispenses medications to hospital patients using highly-engineered mechanics and bar-code technology.

Most people in hospitals need medicine. Each person requires a different kind and a specific dose at various times throughout the day. Caregivers must pay special attention to these critical details to avoid making dangerous errors. But what if there was a way to reduce the risk of human error? Produced by Aesynt, ROBOT-Rx®is used by hospital pharmacies to ensure the safe storage, dispensing, and accounting of thousands of doses of medication. Using an automated bar code system, the robot matches individual patients with prescribed medication, performing the task with 99.9% accuracy. In roboworld®, visitors select a patient, scan the identification card into the ROBOT-Rx®, and after the robot has selected the prescribed medication, confirm that the medication matches the identification card. Once a technician loads the system, the robot can run 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
