In 1968, Stanley Kubrick challenged the conventional routines of film with his experimental epic, “2001: A Space Odyssey.” Astronauts sent on a mysterious mission find themselves in increasingly strange situations as the ship’s computer system, HAL 9000, begins to behave in unexpected ways.
