Pricing and Tickets

There’s so much to do at Carnegie Science Center! Whether you have just an hour to spend or can plan to stay for the whole day, we have options for everyone.

Visitors age 2 years and over are required to wear masks or other close-fitting face coverings over the nose and mouth. Museum staff and volunteers will be wearing masks, too. We follow this important updated PA Department of Health guideline to protect ourselves and each other. Visitors who, for medical reasons, cannot wear a mask or other close-fitting face covering may instead wear a plastic face shield that covers the nose and mouth, extends below the chin and to the ears, and leaves no exposed gap between the forehead and the shield's headpiece. In all circumstances, an appropriate face covering of some kind is now required of all visitors. If you have questions, please call and speak with a Visitor Services representative at 412.237.3400. If you are unable to wear a face mask or a face shield, we invite you to explore our virtual offerings at Carnegie Museums From Home opens in a new window, until the time comes when mask-wearing is no longer required.

Upon your arrival, you will be asked if you have any of the COVID-19 symptoms, which will be listed on nearby signage. If you or anyone in your party answers “yes” to any of the symptom screening questions, you will be respectfully asked to visit at another time for the safety of all. You and everyone in your group will undergo temperature checks using a touchless thermometer. If a temperature registers 100.4 F/38◦ C or greater, you can request a second temperature check. If both readings show a temperature of 100.4 F/38◦ C or greater or any visitor declines the temperature screen or to wear a face mask, that visitor will be asked to visit at another time.

We strongly encourage that you purchase your tickets online in advance of arriving – all tickets will be timed reservations every 30 minutes to ensure we can maintain limited building capacity while reducing any wait time for our visitors. We recommend arriving as close to your entry time as possible. The surcharge for online ticket purchases has been eliminated for a limited time. Please note: Tickets are being sold up to four weeks in advance.

If you must purchase your tickets on site, we ask that you use a credit card or touchless payment method.

Guidelines for Social Distancing

When you visit the museums, you’ll see signs reminding you to maintain a safe social distance. Please follow these and other directional signs as you explore our spaces, and remember to give everyone enough space—at least 6 feet between you or your group and others around you! For groups visiting the museums (e.g., guided tours, field trips, including school groups), at least 6 feet of distance must be maintained between individuals within the group and those who are not from the same household or group. For safety reasons, a large group visiting the museums may need to be divided into smaller groups, even when all members of the large group are from the same household.
