STEM Adventure invites elementary students to explore the world of STEM

In early March, more than 1,200 students in grades 1-5 explored science, technology, engineering, and math in a whole new way with STEM Adventure, a field trip event organized by Carnegie Science Center’s Duquesne Light Co. Center for STEM Education and Career Development. Students engaged with dozens of interactive Adventure Stations on all four floors of the Science Center, led by staff educators and professionals from local universities and companies. Activities included learning about solids and liquids in an “aqua lab”; observing plant matter in a microscope and drawing what they see; measuring heart rates in Highmark SportsWorks®, and a special live animal demo presented by Humane Animal Rescue.

Please note: This event took place before Carnegie Science Center closed temporarily due to public health concerns surrounding COVID-19.
