2020 Summer Camps
Thank you for joining us at Carnegie Science Center’s Summer Camps! We hope your child had as much fun attending as we did organizing it. We know this summer looked a little different, and we are so thankful for your patience as we navigated this year’s camp season.
We want to hear your feedback, so we can keep improving our programming. Please fill out this quick survey and let us know your thoughts.
Hear what our campers are saying about their experience:
- “I was so impressed with how well the camps were run this year. Every safety precaution was taken, and I felt comfortable sending my son to camp. Also, the smaller class size was a blessing in disguise. My son got so much out of this camp and seemed to really connect with his counselors.”
- “After discussing space during camp, my 6-year-old came home and wanted to watch the Mars rover launch. She also drew our solar system while playing outside, complete with specifics on particular planets in the correct order. After the outdoor explorer camp, she has also started tracking the phases of the Moon. She loved the camp and is excited to come back next year.”
- “Safety precautions taken were fantastic and well thought out communication from staff was excellent; my son loved every single second of his weeklong experience and cannot wait to attend several weeks of camp next summer.”
- “All social distancing and health standards were fantastic. I especially appreciated the amazing service I received when one program was canceled – and the willingness to rearrange our schedule entirely to get all of the camps we wanted. It was fabulous!”
We are still in the planning stages for future programming. Stay tuned for more details about holiday camps!
2020 Summer Camps
Our mission of fostering a love of science and technology is more imperative now than ever before, as the importance of science in the health and welfare of the community is highlighted. We’ve updated our summer camp scheduleto allow for ample social distancing and minimal supply sharing while ensuring that campers have fun, memorable, and enriching experiences.
Though our schedule has been reduced, the FUN has been heightened! Design a miniature golf course and program Sphero to be the golf ball, conduct experiments to detect poisonous substances, explore potential and kinetic energy, and learn epic design software in BNY Mellon Fab Lab Carnegie Science Center. Explore available camps in July and August.
Our team is following guidelines on preventative measures from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Allegheny County Health Department. Learn about our enhanced cleaning protocols, capacity reductions, hygiene education, and more.
