AARON the Cybernetic Artist

Developed by artist and researcher Harold Cohen of San Diego, AARON the Cybernetic Artist is an ongoing research effort in autonomous machine intelligence.

Following a set of rules programmed by Cohen, an internationally recognized artist, AARON creates unique pieces of art each day with the progress displayed on a large screen within roboworld®, raising the question, “can a robot exhibit creativity?”

Local Connection

Robot 250, a city-wide community art and technology program designed in conjunction with Pittsburgh’s 250th anniversary in 2008, turned Pittsburgh into a living learning lab by enabling students, families, artists, and the public to build their own customized robots.
