Group Reservations Policy

Carnegie Science Center will be introducing a new group visit reservation and refund policy. This policy is meant to guarantee tickets to groups with reservations and reduce the ticket availability issues caused by no-show groups.

The policies below apply to all reservations for visits on or after September 1, 2007, including reservations for BODIES… The Exhibition.

Group rates are available to groups of 15 or more individuals. Exceptions to this minimum are made for school groups and homeschool families with advance reservations.

Group reservations are not guaranteed until the group leader has received confirmation from the Carnegie Science Center reservationist. For fastest service, group leaders should call the reservationist at 412.237.3410 between the hours of 7 am – 3 pm, Monday – Friday. Website inquiries do not constitute reservations.

For best service, groups should make reservations at least two weeks in advance of their desired visit date. Many Carnegie Science Center experiences have limited seating capacity and/or occupancy. Ticket availability is on a first-come, first-served basis.

To guarantee their reservations, groups must submit a non-refundable deposit of 50% of the visit price within 14 business days after the reservation is made or two weeks before the visit date, whichever comes first. Carnegie Science Center accepts checks and credit cards (Visa, MasterCard and American Express) for deposits. Groups making reservations less than two weeks before the visit date must guarantee their reservation with a credit card. Deposits for visits during the 2007-2008 school year are due September 1.

Reservations can be adjusted (pending ticket availability) until two weeks before the visit date. Adjustments include changing the date/time slot and adding/subtracting guests. Within two weeks of the visit date, Carnegie Science Center cannot guarantee ticket availability for another date. Cancellations less than two weeks before the event date will result in forfeiture of deposit. To guarantee ticket availability, finalize the number of attendees in your group at least two weeks before your visit date.

At check-in, groups with more than the reserved number of guests will be charged for extra guests at the group rate, pending ticket availability. Carnegie Science Center cannot guarantee that tickets will be available for additional group guests. To guarantee admission for all members of your group, provide an accurate count at the time you make your reservation. Groups with fewer than the reserved number of guests will be charged for the total number of guests, but not less than the deposit price.
