C.A.U.S.E. Challenge™ High School Film Festival

Flex your filmmaking muscles and explore the world of environmental science as you compete for cash and prizes. Working individually or in teams of up to four, students write, produce and edit a five-minute video or film on the theme “Mutual Impact: The Environment and You.” Films are judged by an independent panel of scientists, environmentalists and filmmakers based on their message, creativity, relevance to the southwestern Pennsylvania region, use of available technology and accuracy. Presented by Bayer Corporation and Pittsburgh Filmmakers.

Eligibility: 9th – 12th grade students who live in the following counties may participate in the C.A.U.S.E. Challenge High School Film Festival. If your county in not listed but you would like to participate, please contact us.  

Pennsylvania: Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Bedford, Blair, Butler, Cambria, Centre, Clarion, Clearfield, Crawford, Erie, Fayette, Forest, Greene, Indiana, Jefferson, Lawrence, Mercer, Somerset, Venango, Washington and Westmoreland.

Ohio: Columbiana, Jefferson and Mahoning.

West Virginia: Marion, Monongalia and Preston.

Students whose parents/guardians are employed by Carnegie Science Center, Bayer Corporation, Pittsburgh Filmmakers or any of their affiliates are not eligible to participate in this competition.
