Observatory SkyWatch Friday Evening

Date: On Clear Friday Evenings, Weather Permitting

Learn about globular clusters, nebulas and planets when you see them with your own eyes. Come to SkyWatch at the Henry Buhl, Jr. Observatory and get up-close and personal with amazing celestial objects. Our 16-inch Meade LX200 Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope shows you great detail of the planets. Best of all, our expert stargazers can explain exactly what you're seeing. You can't do this at home!

Visitor parking at Carnegie Science Center is $5 per vehicle for non-members. Member parking rates are $3 per vehicle.

Observing takes place only if skies are clear on Friday and Saturday evenings.

June observations hours are 10-11:30 pm
July observations hours are 10-11:30 pm
August observations hours are 10-11:30 pm
September observations hours are 9-10:30 pm
October observations hours are 8-9:30 pm
November observations hours are 7-8:30 pm
December observations hours are 6-7:30 pm
