Join the Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium and Polar Bears International from 11 am – 3 pm to celebrate one of nature's most impressive hunters and all things cold!

  • Learn ways to reduce your carbon footprint, play the polar plunge game, and touch skulls, claws, and fur.
  • Plus, hang out with the zoo's polar bear mascot and check out a blubber glove to see how a layer of fat keeps the cold out!
  • Kitchen Theater to experiment with ice cream at Science in a Scoop!
  • Works Theater to learn about the states of matter and see the effects of super-cold liquid nitrogen at Freeze!

Be sure to visit these activities included with general admission.

To The Arctic to see polar bears on Pittsburgh's biggest screen at the Rangos Omnimax Theater! Showing at 12:15 pm, 2:15 pm, and 4:15 pm.
Members: $7 adult / $5 child
Non-members: $8 adult/ $6 child

Fun Fact: When fully grown, polar bears can weigh up to 1,700 pounds and grow to 10 feet in length!
